Day 15
Well it has been 2 weeks and I still love fasting!
I honestly can hardly believe how motivated and obsessed I still am. I haven't gotten bored AT ALL.
This is huge for me since I generally start to lose steam in a diet after two weeks. Sometimes I will stick with it for as many as 12 weeks, but the 2 week mark is usually when it stops being 'fun' for me. Fasting is so much different. I am not only still motivated, but I am still having fun!
This past week I found myself stretching my 20 hour fasting window to 22 hours most days. On Monday I lasted 24 hours and 15 minutes. I didn't even feel hungry! I only broke down and ate that day because I was nervous to push the next day's window too late into the evening!
I truly feel as though I can keep fasting in some form or another for the rest of my life. My plan is to continue mainly doing 20 hour fasts every day for the rest of my year long challenge. I think when I hit my goal weight I will keep on fasting but just switch to doing a 16 or 18 hour fast for maintenance.
This week I had to pay a lot of attention to my mirror and the way that my clothes were fitting. The numbers on the scale just weren't dropping the same as they did in week one. I knew this would happen. Week one was a lot of water weight and bloating so I wasn't expecting do continue at that pace. Additionally, I have read and heard that intermittent fasting tends to plateau in the second week and then you have to keep the faith for a few weeks until your body adjusts and starts losing pounds again.
I am very happy with the results in the mirror. I can see the weight loss in my neck, and in the width of my hips. I have also been digging through the closet for my collection of cute tee shirts that were a bit too tight last year. It's not quite as good as actually dropping full sizes, but I love pulling on a shirt that caused me dread a few months ago.
So the numbers are in and I am....
2 weeks down, 50 weeks to go.
14 pounds down, 86 to go.
